
Tamar Brooks is a Chicago-based actor, playwright, and poet.

Tamar Brooks is a Wisconsin original who received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, and joined the Chicago creative scene shortly thereafter.
Some of her notable roles include the Duke of Aumerle in Richard II, performed at Flint Castle in Wales; King Pentheus in Revenge and Sorrow in Thebes, an all-female retelling of Euripides’ The Bacchae; and Alice in the film I’m Not Okay, a finalist at the Seoul International Film Festival. Her writing has been featured in a variety of festivals, online platforms, and exhibits, including a 5-year tenure at UWWFest.
Ms. Brooks is a company member of Loud Voices, Silent Streets, and has studied with Adrianne Cury, Malcolm McKay, and Patrice Egleston, among others.
